Message: Thanks for tip, drgandalf. How was their delivery speed? I've had a book on order from Chess4less since Feb 5 and still haven't heard from them. I sent them an email last week and didn't even get an answer. For books I've found Chesscafe efficient, and of course Amazon. I've never tried cajun chess, however.

Message: I like amazon because you can find used books there cheaper and still order them online. I have bought 2 used books and was very happy with their condition when I got them. Also the delivery was exceptionally fast. Also they keep you informed about your order through email.
I also have had a pleasant experience with Barns and Noble online. Its great to just ask for gift cards from these places for Christmas or birthdays and order what you want or need yourself. Most people don't know what you have in your collection so don't know what to get you.

Message: I just looked up your rfecommendation, bkchess. I compared Excalibur Clock, at bkchess for $69.95. At cajunchess the identical clock is $29.95. You should, howeverm buy from whomever you wish.

3/02/2004 09:21:19 [ report this post ] | chess4less
Message: Ordered a book from chess4less 5 February. Emailed me a receipt. Two weeks later no book. emailed an inquiry. Emailed me a receipt of inquiry. No response. No book. Three weeks later no book. Mailed another inquiry a week later. emailed me a receipt of inquiry. no book. Now it's March 2. Still no book. If there were a supply problem, they could have notified me...said something. I've had good results with chesscafe and amazon. speed and follow up was excellent. I tried chess4less as an experiment since they are in Florida and i'm in Florida. Seems being in the same state doesn't help with some sites. Will look into BK, as coyotefan has mentioned. The best advertisement is a satisfied customer.

3/16/2004 09:37:25 [ report this post ] | USCF and Chess Cafe
Message: USCF is now handing over equipment/book orders to Chess Cafe. USCF has had a bad reputation, according to most people i talk to. Chess Cafe is well-run and efficient. I have bought a lotof stuff there. I hope this improves USCF's reputation, and I hope it's inefficiency doesn't rub off on Chess Cafe.

3/29/2004 16:14:14 [ report this post ] | Another positive experience
Message: I had a third positive erxperience with cajunchess.com. I saved about half over USCF prices. Delivery time was two weeks to the day.
I hope chesscafe does well also, although I have not checked their prices.
USCF is badly managed and losing reputation year by year. To give up the profitable equipment and book business only shows the depth of the problems there. Rated tournaments and matches are better at chess-express.com. With the exception of its magazine, Chess Life, there really is little reason to expect competence from USCF. Anyone interested in postal chess should check out ASPCC, far less expensive and just as proficient. Email me for details about ASPCC.

Message: i wasnt reading the forum after i posted it... well, they nice... their products are real...not that fake stuff from taiwan...its good...i got my chronos, 3 chess sets, some books, and mabye some other stuff that i forgot about from them... uhhh only problem is when i tried to trade my books, their value together was worth around $200, and he would give me only $28... and he advritises tournys for a certain amount of money, then he always cuts the price in half because 280 people didnt show up... usually not even 100 do... but thats in real life, not internet, so i guess it wouldnt make a difference if the president of cajun chess is cheap...
