 Subject: Kramnik-Leko, Game 2Message: The two world championship contestants fought (really) to an 18 move draw today, leaving the match at a score of 1.5 - 0.5, advantage Kramnik. Play was very sharp and hotly debated, and some felt that the final position still had some life left in it (though after 18. ...Nxb7 19. Qf3 Qg3 20. Qxg3 fxg3 things would be much more tame). An interesting game, though. Not only have we seen two leadoff 1 e4 e5 games; but in a testament to the enduring possibility of novelty in chess, I could only find a single master game that paralleled though 10. Nc3 (and that a Leko-Ivanchuk draw from 2003).
