Qxh8. winning a pawn and rook for nothing. It seems many kids have problems defending against this "attack". One defense is 3. ... g6 and black is perfectly ok. Good luck in the tournament. |

Qxf7+ = Scholar's Mate 1. f3 e5 2. g4 Qh4++ mate is the shortest mate in the history of chess. And it's called the Fool's mate . Usually , I regard that a scholar plays the Scholar's Mate and a fool plays the Fool's mate , and it is also theoreticlly proved that Fool's Mate is earliest mate (2 moves) and the earliest stalemate is in 12 moves. |
