Carlsen

Message:
Is lowest rated among the remaining players, but he's been playing very good chess for the last half year or so. I don't think he has even one rating performance below 2600 since june. He'll be over 2600 for the first time in his life on the next official rating list. This spring he was around 2520, so he's been climbing a lot. In the start of October he had a 2794(!) performance in the GM group at Gausdal (Norway). I'm crossing my fingers for him tomorrow.

Carlsen

Message:
has just been doing great things recently and his inspired chess is wonderful to watch. Would not surprise me if he sends Bareev home, he is overrated player anyway, and has been falling sharply down the Fide ranking list this year.
Think Aronian is the hot favorite in this tournament, he has been playing exellent chess for over a year now, and is in the final 16 without a single tie-break.

Carlsen made it to the top 10!

Message:
He's the youngest ever to qualify for the candidate matches (he's 15 years and two weeks old). Even Bobby Fisher and Kasparov were older when they made it to the candidate matches. He's meeting Gata Kamsky tomorrow to play for the places 9-10.

Mighty Carlsen!

Message:
After blundering away won game against Bareev, he passed both Lautier and Malakhov and demolished Kamsky in their first game. I think his attacking chess and "show no fear" attitude has brought him this far. The "if you lose, you go home" nature of this tournament has been quite visible in the games of the more experienced players, resulting in over cautious play. Can't wait to see him play either Pono or Aronian in the top 10 knockouts next year! Carlsens chess has been like a fresh breeze in this tournament.
