2/22/2006 11:52:45 play online chess | Suggestion for drawoffer/resignation rules
Message: We talked about this some days ago. I have thought about it and this is what I came up with:
############
After move 30 it is possible to offer and draw or resign. Any player posting a move can suggest to his team to offer a draw or resign the game. The team then vote on the suggestion. The team captain counts the votes from the team members. The vote is valid if 2/3 of the team votes and is desided by simple majority rules (the team captain has two votes in case of a tie). In case of less than 2/3 of the team voting the game continues.
The captain can also at any time (after move 30) call for a vote on a draw offer or resignation.
From the time of the request the team has 3 days to vote. The game will be paused during the voting.
##########
The number of moves can be lowered. If I do not hear any protests over the next days then the above is the rule.
At the monemt the two teams are:
White:
sough - captain
Mattdw
Wimpie
appelfflap
ionadawman
tugger
drdesoto
Balck:
premium_steve - captain

Message: It's not too difficult to do, though it may take a short while the first time (it takes less than a minute once you are used to the order):
1. Set up the position on the analysis board
2. Press 'Print Screen' (its usually somewhere above the delete key)
3. Open Paint (or something better if you have it)
4. Paste the image (Ctrl+V or from the 'edit>paste' in the drop down menu')
5. Crop the image using the correct tool (usually designated by a dotted box - just drag a square around the board part of the image and then cut or copy it (Ctrl+C or X)
6. Paste it into a new image (or paste as new image if you are using a better program than Paint)
7. Save as a JPEG
8. Upload it to a picture hosting site: I use -> www.photobucket.com
9. Paste the link that the site provides into the forum and voila!
It sounds like a lot but it really is quite a simple process when you are used to it and #1 will probably take more time than #2-#9!
If any of that is not clear then feel free to ask! :)
