Message: (Some people swear by firefox, and yet to me it is a bit unnerving to type oops and have it come up with "Oops" "oops, not again" "oops, I forgot" "oops, looks like ... !)grrr
Well anyway. Gata got One full point from Anand with the Black pieces yet. And owes him another beating the next time they play.... }8-)
Will he be in the next WC?

Message: Vs. Bacrot. Very determined to win, plus a nice show of endgame know-how. Most players would have just handed a draw there without a second thought. Reminds me of Fischer's better days.

Message: after Rxh5 I think it is a draw (Rh6+ in between looked as if it would have picked up a pawn for free though) and also after the the R vs N has emerged. The hard thing is just to hold a theoretical draw in actual play...

Message: to see Gata back in business. Hadn't it been for that fool of his father, he would undoubtly had been in the top, the last 10 years. Still it seems like he had preserved some of that talent, from his younger years.
Shall be interesting to follow him, the next year or so, when his repertoire, has been dust off.
No shame to loose to a Titan like Topalov, on home soil.
Bw.

Message: Did you see today's game against Topalov?? That really must have hurt.
So Topalov and Kamsky going into the last round with shared first, Anand trailing them by half a point. Topalov seems to have the easier task tomorrow, having white against Bacrot whereas Kamsky faces Svidler with black...

Message: I haven't been able to find a direct article, but one sentence about Gata's father, which popup every now and then is:
"His father has been described by some chess players as blustery."
Please check out the search engines!
Best wishes

Message: in doing a Google or such ... Gata'a father is named Rustam Kamsky. And quite a colorful
fellow, some have claimed! :) Probably helped make Gata such a great player tho, I would imagine.
You might want to look for him in connection with GM Nigel Short, and an American GM that I cannot remember if it was GM Michael Wilder(i think so) or GM Patrick Wolfe ... who was once an opponent of Gata. And apparently some remarks passed at the tournament, during a round. Such is the hearsay, anyway. :)

And doing some reading, I came across this article by Rustam Kamsky which is in reply to some bad press from a Chess writer who penned a critical article that was titled "A Father's Pawn".

Message: That last link I posted will not go thru to the article URL. So instead please see the one below here. It will take you to a selection page where choice #4 is the Article cited above by Fred Waitzkin, and choice #3 gives the reply to it, of Mr R. Kamsky.
Both #3 and #4 are called A FATHERS PAWN there.
