Message: of the social forum: In a thread now filled to capacity posted by Salma, our friend indicated that he/she was leaving gameknot due to its overwhelming presence of Americans. I thought this was a poor way of conveying a message and was offensive. Although I'm embarassed by the actions of my country and find my President utterly incompetent, this is no reason to pass judgment upon myself or any others who are powerless over the current circumstances. Why should I implore this person to reconsider, when he/she gives no indication of wanting to share company with myself or my like. Perhaps if Salma had written a well articulated farewell complete with sound reasoning, as opposed to a harsh dismissal, I wouldn't have found it necessary to respond with a resolute "good riddance." I do understand Salma's frustration, however, as it's becoming abundantly clear that world opinion regarding the United States is waning. This fact does not reinforce my love for my country, nor does it influence my feelings towards others. But, if someone is going to launch an attack, they should state their case in language which can be interpreted and given consideration. Good day, Old Sports.
