...I'm gonna be voted off the forums.

Plus, millions of normally neutral Muslims will become terrorists now after last nights US massacre of at least 250 innocent Baghdad civilians.

Security is inversely proportional to freedom. The USA is not gonna feel free for a good while...

And you have Bush to blame.

from artemis

Message:
artemis asked me to post this for him. Then I'll follow with a rebuttal:

artemis: I saw your (moebile's) comment to komei's concerning as you put it, More countries joining up with us. What you fail to realize is that this has happened because, as with many americans who were opposed to the war and then changed it, they want this to be over and done with as quickly as possible. they support us only to have this war over sooner. They changed their view because they are hoping with all their might that causulties will be cut short.
I'm sure you've been watching the news, and I am starting to believe that it is possible that saddam does not have those chemical or biological weapons. and don't say "he isn't using them because the world would know he was lying" HE HAS NOTHING TO LOSE NOW. HE WILL USE THEM BECAUSE IN THE END HE WILL BE DEAD AND HE KNOWS IT. if you truly follow christ then you would speak out against this war as he would. I know the teachings of christ, I spent 18 years of my life studying the bible and sitting in church, and it is VERY CLEAR what JESUS would do.
On CNN right before this war broke out it was shown that OUR GOVERNMENT used FALSIFIED DOCUMENTS concerning terrorist links with osama. THEY SAID IT ON THE NEWS and it was never mentioned again! OUR GOVERNMENT LIED, they have lied, continue to lie, and it is DOCUMENTED!
PLEASE don't ignore the facts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE don't stare corruption in the face and turn your head!
SADDAM is and evil man. he has killed his own people. GUESS WHAT? SO HAS AMERICA.
1. besides americans killing americans in a "civil" war, do you have any doubt that if the technology was available the south or north would have used it? SADDAM had an uprising and did an awful thing.
side points-
a. don't say there is no comparison because when you get down to it, it is about KILLING the enemy. each soldiers job is to kill as many "bad guys" as he can before possibly being killed himself.
b. if you use a terrible weapon on someone besides your own people is it just as bad? you know what I'm talking about, the ATOM bomb!!! We are the only country to use this weapon, and we killed hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women, and children. and I SAY WE BECAUSE IT WAS DONE IN OUR NAME. How easily americans can SCOFF at this as if it was the past and has nothing to do with now. PEOPLE ARE STILL LIVING from that, and if you had a family member dealing with nuclear fallout from WW2 I don't think you would scoff and wave it off. AND DON'T you belive for a second that we did it to save lives!!!! Newsweek did an article and printed truman's diaries. it is well known that the japanese emporer was looking to surrender. GERMANY was already out of the war when this happened, and japan wanted to surrender and save some face. OUR GOVERNMENT WAS in contact with japan and knew the war was at an end when we dropped 2 atomic bombs on them. WE DID IT TO AFFECT POST WAR SPOILS AND SHOCK AND AWE THE WORLD WITH OUR NEW TOY OF MASS DESTRUCTION.
2. syphilus- it is well known, and now I have even seen a movie on HBO concerning what our government did to black men with syphilus, how they did not treat thousands of black men who had this disease and let them die to study the effects of syphilus. TO BAD RUSSIA DIDN"T COME LIBERATE US THEN.
3. here is one that is hitting the news in north carolina for the past few months concerning STERILIZATION of poor black women on welfare. this was done under the guise of ridding the gene pool of mentally disabled folks by sterilizing anyone with mental disabilities and quickly turned into an IQ test where over a period of 30 years 7000 black women on welfare were sterilized in the state of NORTH CAROLINA ALONE. RACIST GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS quickly realized they could stop poor welfare women from having poor black babies and were hoping to get rid of welfare. WHERE WAS CHINA THEN TO HELP LIBERATE US FROM OUR TORTURING GOVERNMENT?
WOW THAT'S JUST 3 OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD!!!!!
4. 100,000,000+ NATIVE AMERICANS, thats right ONE HUNDRED MILLION PLUS NATIVE AMERICANS killed by white european trash through disease, famine and war. OUR COUNTRY IS FOUNDED ON DISEASE, RAPE, TORTURE, MURDER, LIES, all in the CHRISTIAN GODS NAME. I bet he was pretty happy with his followers. WHERE WAS FRANCE TO LIBERATE THE PEOPLE FROM THIS GOVERNMENT WHO OVER MANY YEARS PRACTICALLY KILLED OFF AN ENTIRE RACE OF HUMANS? ITS CALLED GENOCIDE PEOPLE!!!! HITLER RAN HIS CONCENTRATION CAMPS ON THE MODEL OF THE U.S.A. AND WHAT THEY DID TO THE AMERICAN INDIANS. HITLER GAVE U.S.A. MANY COMPLIMENTS ON HOW WE HANDLED THE INDIANS OF AMERICA.
and yes those numbers are RIGHT. 70,000,000 people are estimated to be living in europe, and well over 100,000,000 were existing in the U.S. before the we killed them during this time. I am sick of hearing the jews cry about 6 million, when the voice of 100 million is very silent. AMERICA IS A TERRORIST STATE, BORN OF TERRORISM, BREEDING TERRORISM there is no doubt what this war is about. I am an american, I am from native american descent, and I REFUSE TO TURN MY HEAD IN THE FACE OF THIS LYING GOVERNMENT whose only purpose is to make multi trillions of dollars off the oil before it is gone. BUSH wants us to switch to new technology and stop relying on oil, but first he wants to make multi trillions so his family will be able to live off that money for as long as the earth moves, as well as his circle of CRIMINALS, or as I heard put it, the OIL MAFIA.
Haliburton is already under way to "HELP" the U.N. take the oil and rebuild IRAQ. yes it will be rebuilt, but you bet your american arse Haliburton will make trillions in the process. we all know american business, and we all know a company can't exist unless it's turning a profit.
I BEG ALL AMERICANS TO FACE THE CORRUPTION BORN OUT OF THIS COUNTRY. STOP LYING TO YOURSELVES, STOP LYING TO COVER YOUR GOVERNMENT, IN YOUR HEART YOU KNOW THIS IS WRONG.
SINCERELY,
ARTEMIS

Rebuttal

Message:
Rebuttal to artemis.

As a matter of fact, I do agree with much of what you say.

I have done plenty to voice my opinion against this war telling of how uncomfortable I am with it. While I'm essentially against this war, I do believe something should be done about Saddam. My whole point is built around how ruthless and uncooperative he is and that something does need to be done about him. I would have preferred a surgical strike designed to snatch him away to an international court or something. I still don't really see a full-blown war as justifiable, but since the powers that be has ruled such, then we should fully support our troops if nothing else becuse it is them on the front line of danger.

Again, support the troops!

How well I realize that the US is as brutial as Russia, China and some of the other countries out there will less than spotless human rights records.

I've read lots of accounts our gov't has done, their atrocities and cover-ups. Even the history channel we get here sometimes tells of such things.

Of course we all get our chance to correct it when election time rolls around again. Then again, it only comes down to the lesser of two evils. Maybe we should start voting for the independents or something.

Interesting statement of the Japan bombs. That's the first time I've heard an alternative version of the "to save lives" scenero. I thought a showing of our new toys was largely a gulf war thing. Of course part of it could have been displayed during the Korean war.

Hopefully this war will soon be over, the dictator deposed (Saddam incidentially), we get another friendly democratic outpost in the middle of the middle east, many countries gets in on the big bucks project of rebuilding Iraq and we all live happily ever after. At least that's the sentiments of our US leaders right now.

In short, let's at least hope the war is short and Saddam is removed from power because he's ruthless, ruthless, ruthless.

While members of our own gov't are ruthless too, at least they dress up nicer.

That was a joke.

Hey, I've been a defender of speaking out against our leaders. They really don't ALWAYS make the right decisions.

The main thing is to see Saddam out and pray for our troops. When the smoke clears we'll have plenty of time to make our leaders account for what they have done. Believe me, there will be lots of questions from the nations.

Democracy hasn't been used on a large scale since ancient Greece, and even then it failed because the city-states couldn't unite. Plato of Athens wrote "The Republic" because he was convinced that the average Greek didn't have the skills to govern.

The U.S. is a Republic because our forefathers also believed that the common man was too stupid to rule. That is why we have the electorate college: in case the majority of Americans try to elect some idiot as president.

Our form of government does have its faults, but in this case, it gives us the power to make the right desicions when others either do not or do not want to understand the facts.

And in Sparta only army men could vote...

Anybody know what the world's largest democacy is..?

And when we look at the middle east, I'm not sure that democacy is going to work out too well over there....let's not worry about Iraq for the moment, how about Saudi Arabia? If there were elections today, a strong islamic party would win and they'd kick the States right out of there..and maybe stop selling them petrol too....kind of makes you think eh?!

innocents Komie. Where do you get your information.

Or are you putting your spin on the occaisional and unfortunated casualties of the bombings. If so massacre is a misleading term for it, since that conjures up images of American soldiers indiscriminately shooting a crowd of innocent civilians (clearly not the case.)

As usual Komie you're using any event you can to yell your American hatred. Usual tolerable (and ignorable) this is extremely counter productive at this time.

I'm not saying I agree with everything to coalition has been doing. The complaints about prisoners of war being paraded days after we were shown lines of iraqi prisoners and questions about the positioning of American troops (on the one hand journalisms are constantly updating us on the rapid progress towards Baghdad on the other we are told "information about allied positions is not given" when a question is asked.) reeks of double standards.

The point is that things are bad enough as they are without us spinning them to our own ends as you (Komie) have done (to no surprise). Shame on you.
