 Subject: Where can I download Java?Message: I saw this site is now having a blitz section.I wanted to try that out but I don,t have Java so can anyone please give me a link for it.Thanks a lot. By the way,did anyone try out that blitz section? |

One thing I liked about playing at FICS is that some players are willing to teach you after you lose your game, and they have tournament going on, like 3 0 or 5 0 tournaments, even 30 0 tournaments. But I guess it is just preference. I dont like Yahoo previously because it didnt compensate for players disconnecting, which it does now. But, my preference would still be FICS because I get to use an interface instead of the Java interface Yahoo uses. -Ctrl. |

If I I glance away, then its hard to find his move; takes up time. But for a developing stage game its not bad so far. Sometimes even kinda fun to be surprised who you end up paired with. ......BUT, neither one of us could figure out how to get it to stop giving him white every game; tho he'd seen it done before. "THANKS" if anyone can tell us HOW ? ..... Eventually, like to see it:*List opp prospects" , *move pieces smoother, maybe even have a Two Click movement option(on Origin SQ then Destination SQ), not just the "Drag" method. *A seperate rating for Blitz. ***But even now its great the pieces don't "freeze" & refuse to move, as when I play Yahoo! (They say its a compatiblity problem vs AOL just users ?!) Also , don't like Yahoo small, cheapo-looking sets. GK's look much better, as do FICS or ColonyCom's sets. But ColCom's harder to get games paired to you now, unless you "Play for Tickets". Cuz those people get first preference over No-Ticket people. They say some USA states don't allow Tickets, EG. Iowa. ... So right now, like FICS best for Blitz. Has all those Goodies above except no Two-Click, but pieces Never jerk, or freeze up & FLAG me in won games...[frustrating on Yahoo - you never know WHEN it will start to act-up. I hear theres a "fix" for AOL- Yahoo incompat...just not worth the effort to me] Also like FICS option of e-mail'g you your game moves automatically. In case of a memorable game. |
