Subject: Max league games

Message:
Active league games: 84
Max league games (selected by user): 6

One guy has 14 times more games running then the maximum selected. And almost all games are 2 or 3 leagues lower then his current.

How is this possible?

.

Message:
The maximum league games flag allows you to limit the number of league challenges you can get. It doesn't stop you challenging other players. This, of course, means you can pick and choose your opponents carefully.

If you are promoted to a higher league then any games that are still running are played to a conclusion, but you only get a half-point if you win them.

This guy has obviously been promoted quite quickly through several divisions. A rising star, perhaps?

I wish I was

Message:
While this is not me this time, I have looked like this many times. I have bounced between e2 and d2 so many times I get whiplash. The problem with league scoring is you get promoted and all your active games are like a noose. You get demoted they are worth gold. There has to be a better scoring system.

As I have pointed out int he past there were weeks I went 10-5 and got DEMOTED and others where I went 3-5 and got promoted.

As for the reason I set my max games so low is as you predicted, I want to pick my poison.

Promotion

Message:
The guy got promoted with only finishing games from 2 or more leagues below he was in. My congratulations!
He still got more than 70 games and my guess is he will be the first to reach A1.
I have nothing personal against the person, just a general issue. My question is, isn't better to allow promotions only after finishing a certain number of games in the league you are in? For example, one player is in C3 should have finished # of C3 games before promotion, even if his score is >10. The same for demotions, off course.
Please, what's your opinion of this?

I am sorry, that's not what I am trying to say. Let me clarify myself.
When you are promoted to a higher league, you still have games running from the previous league(s).
When you win all these games from the previous league, you can get a score of >10, but you haven't finished one single games against one player of the same league.
What I am trying to say, there should be a new rule: one can only get promotion after finishing a certain number of games against other players in the same league. Hope it's clear now.
What I want to know if you agree with this or not?

One week later

Message:
He will promote again! Now from C1 to B3. Why? Because he finished enough games from leagues D2-D3 last week to make a score of 10.

It's the same

Message:
way brunetti climbed the divisions.
When he got promoted to a new division he was the only one there but managed to get promoted another pair of times with the games he had started in lower divisions.

There's a problem with this technique.
If you reach a division where you're the only player and you finish all the games started in lower divisions, well, there's no one else you can challenge! So You'll stay there, up your hill, getting bored untill someone reaches you.

Regards,
Paolo.
